Installation TypesThe heater cable is strung out across the floor at 50 to 80mm centres. The heater to tails termination is then done on site after cutting off excess cable provided for making allowances for small adjustments that need to be made. The protection of the cable while the floor covering is laid is determined by floor covering. Heatwave have 2 types of cable protection methodologies. The ‘dry' Installation MethodThe mesh is secured with an adhesive along the perimeter and at the joins to allow for the spread of the tile adhesive. The floor can be tiled 30 minutes after installation of the cables. By having the mesh to tile through the adhesive will adhere to the original substrate. The ‘wet' Installation MethodHeatwave make us of a specially formulated spread that is applied to the floor over the cables and then worked so as to provide a smooth surface level with the top of the cables without floating the cables as is the case with floor levelling compounds. Because of the robust constructions and the use of the element monitor heatwave are assured of a working floor once the floor covering has been laid. |
